What does the X (Twitter) Passkey feature do?
The Pass Key feature, offered to all X (Twitter) users with the recently released update , allows users to log in with biometric verification instead of using their account password. Accordingly, authentication can be done with Face ID or Touch ID.
For those who don’t know , Passkey is known as a more secure login method against phishing or social engineering. In this context, it is recommended for use by users. So how do you activate this feature? Let’s explain step by step.
To activate the Passkey feature for X (Twitter), you must follow these steps;
- Step 1: Open the X (Twitter) application.
- Step 2: Tap your profile photo in the upper left corner.
- Step 3: From the vertical menu that opens, tap Settings and Support > Settings and privacy.
- Step 4: Follow Security and account access > Security.
- Step 5: Activate the “Passkey” option under the “Additional password protection” heading.
- Step 6: Verify by entering your account password.
- Step 7: Choose an authentication chain implementation for the Passkey.
- Step 8: That’s it!
It remains unclear for now when the Passkey feature will be available to Android users.
