Yandex has added a new feature localized for users in Turkey. Passengers using public transportation in Istanbul can now view fare information for the public transportation options they will use along their route when planning their trips using the Yandex Maps and Navigation apps.

Yandex introduces a significant innovation

With the latest update to the app, both the total cost and individual fare information for public transportation trips are displayed. The new system is based on official data for the metro, bus, Marmaray, ferry, and other public transportation lines in Istanbul. Fare information is reflected in line with current tariffs provided by operators such as Istanbulkart, İETT, Marmaray, and Şehir Hatları (City Lines).

The app not only tells users which public transportation options to use along their route, but also displays the cost of the trip directly on the screen. This allows passengers to see which route is cheaper or more expensive before starting their journey.

The update is available for both Android and iOS users. To use the new feature, users must update their Yandex Maps or Navigation apps to the latest versions.

Yandex has also launched a campaign for users in Istanbul. The company announced that it is offering a 100 TL bonus balance for use on IstanbulKart and İDO. Users wishing to take advantage of the campaign can access relevant information within the app.

This step by Yandex makes the routing experience more transparent and affordable, especially for those living in large cities and using public transportation regularly.
