At its “Made on YouTube 2025” event, YouTube unveiled a number of new AI tools and features aimed at streamlining content creators’ workflows, increasing engagement, and expanding monetization opportunities. Here are the new features for Shorts, Podcasts, and monetization.
New AI Features Arrive for YouTube Shorts
The biggest innovation for YouTube Shorts videos is the integration of Google’s DeepMind Veo 3 Fast generative tool. This tool can create backgrounds with audio for short videos. It also offers features such as motion and restyling, adding new objects to scenes, AI editing that transforms raw footage into video outlines, and “speech-to-song” that transforms speech into song.

YouTube also introduced Ask Studio, a dedicated conversational tool for creators. This assistant is designed to help creators optimize their workflows, offer suggestions for better engagement, run A/B tests, and automatically voice-activate videos.
The platform is also introducing innovations for live broadcasts and podcasts. Its live streaming tools aim to deepen fan engagement, reach new audiences, and increase monetization. Podcasters will also be able to use AI to cut short videos (Shorts) and clips from full episodes. Furthermore, the Veo tool will simplify the work of podcast creators with the ability to create customizable videos from just the audio file.
Finally, YouTube is adding new monetization options that bring creators and brands together. Creators can now add links directly to brand websites in their Shorts videos. The YouTube Shopping platform will soon reach more markets and merchants. AI will facilitate integration by streamlining product tagging.
The new tools and features announced will be rolled out in phases starting in late 2025 and early 2026.
