YouTube is once again renewing the mini player interface in its Android application. The platform, which offered a larger and more functional mini-player with the change it made last year, is withdrawing this design and switching to a simpler look after receiving intense criticism.
YouTube will renew its mini player design
The new mini-player design appeared in YouTube beta version 20.18.32. With the change, the white control bar at the bottom of the mini player, which occupies a large area, is completely removed.

Thus, a simple and compact interface that takes up less of the screen will be presented. Users can now pause and close the video directly through the icons. The fast-forward and rewind buttons have also been removed in this update.
In the renewed design, the mini player can be maximised to full screen with a finger gesture or double tap as before. In addition, the ad skip function will continue to be used in the new version.
While the new interface eliminates the loss of screen space caused by the previous large design, some users expressed that the previous ribbon-shaped player was more useful.
With this change, YouTube aims to simplify the user experience and increase viewing comfort, especially on small screens. The platform is currently testing this update in beta version.
In line with the feedback, the new design is expected to be available to all users shortly. So what do you think about this issue? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
