YouTube is preparing to offer a new audio quality option for Premium subscribers. With the new feature that the company is testing, a 256 kbps option will be available in addition to the existing 128 kbps audio quality for videos on the platform. However, this innovation will only be available to paid subscribers. This innovation has been met with great satisfaction by users.
YouTube is increasing audio quality by two times
While YouTube offered users different options in terms of video resolution, it did not provide a similar variety in audio quality. Whether a video was watched in 144p or 2160p resolution, the audio quality continued to play at 128 kbps bit rate without changing.

With the new feature, Premium users will be able to choose between two different audio options, “Normal” and “High Quality”, regardless of the resolution they are watching the video in. It is stated that this change will not negatively affect existing free users.
It is stated that YouTube plans to offer additional advantages such as watching videos without ads to its Premium subscribers, as well as increasing audio quality as a privilege. However, it is not yet clear how this policy will take shape in the future.
Although YouTube has not made an official statement yet, it is estimated that the platform will continue to add new features to its Premium services to improve the user experience. So what do you think about this?
