This new feature stands out as an expansion of the existing ‘Copyright Match Tool.’ However, this tool focuses on personal identity and similarity rather than copyrighted content. When the AI finds facial or vocal matches in other videos, it immediately notifies the creator. This allows creators to quickly identify videos where their identity has been used without permission.
When a match is found, creators have the opportunity to thoroughly review the relevant video. If they believe the content violates YouTube’s privacy or impersonation policies, they can submit a removal request directly through the system. This provides a powerful defense mechanism, especially against misleading content created with deepfakes.
