Charging times and infrastructure deficiencies for electric vehicles are still among the concerns of many drivers. However, Zeekr has taken an important step towards eliminating this problem with its new 1.2 MW supercharger.
Zeekr introduces 1.2 MW charger
The 1.2 MW liquid-cooled ultra-fast charger will significantly shorten the charging times of electric vehicles. The new-generation Zeekr Power charging system will enter service in the second quarter of 2025 and will offer faster charging opportunities to vehicle owners.

However, despite the charger’s high capacity, there is currently no passenger vehicle that supports 1.2 MW charging. This means that future vehicles will need to adapt to this charging infrastructure.
Zeekr currently operates 1,500 charging stations across China and aims to increase this number to 10,000 by the end of 2026. It also plans to expand into markets outside of China. The company has announced plans to build a global charging network, with Australia set to be one of the first hubs.
The next-generation Zeekr Power charging system is currently the most powerful passenger vehicle supercharger. However, the first supercharger to be put into operation will be BYD’s 1 MW Megawatt Flash Charger.
BYD plans to commission the first 500 units this month, while Tesla offers 500 kW chargers with its V4 Cabinet model. What do you think about this? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
