A significant leak has surfaced regarding Samsung’s highly anticipated first tri-fold smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold. Animations shared by X users hint at the device’s software features, while the most exciting detail comes from the camera app. Here are the details.
The Galaxy Z TriFold could stand out with its camera
One of the leaked animations shows how the zoom function in the Galaxy Z TriFold’s camera app works. This clip reveals that the device can offer up to 100x zoom, a major advancement in the world of mobile photography.
This leak potentially addresses a major limitation of Samsung foldable phones for years. All Fold models released so far have only featured a 3x telephoto lens, the same level found on Samsung phones two or three times cheaper.
For a long time, tech enthusiasts have been demanding that Samsung bring the powerful telephoto camera setup from the Galaxy S Ultra series to the Fold series. If this new leak is accurate, Samsung could completely change the landscape of camera compromises in the Fold series by exceeding expectations with its first of three foldable models.
A powerful camera with 100x zoom will give Samsung’s most ambitious foldable a truly flagship-level photography experience, befitting its futuristic form factor. The main camera is expected to have a 200MP resolution, similar to the one seen in the previous Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy S Ultra devices.
