The former Spanish, now German brand Seat, announced a few months ago that it would continue its life under the name ‘Cupra’ within the Volkswagen Group. Therefore, the new Leon model is now launched under the Cupra brand instead of Seat’s. The 2024 facelifted new Cupra Leon made its debut with its renewed sporty character. Offering 333 Hp power: Specifications and price of the 2024 new Cupra Leon!
The revamped Cupra Leon offers significant innovations for both the station wagon and hatchback body types. It’s worth mentioning that the Leon, among the brand’s most sporty models, has undergone a more comprehensive facelift operation this time.
Let’s start with the mechanical part first. Engineers at the VAG Group seem to have done their homework this time. The Cupra Leon will be equipped with a 2.0 TSI unit producing 333 Hp of power with its new facelift. Additionally, the car will feature the Torque Splitter feature, previously seen only in the Formentor VZ5 and Audi RS 3 models.
In short, this feature, which we can describe as a ‘torque splitter,’ will distribute power more efficiently to the front and rear axles during performance driving. This will result in better road grip, increased efficiency, and improved performance.
As for the hardware features, we should start with the Matrix LED headlights. The model, with its new headlight design resembling triangular baklava slices, comes with new front bumpers and grilles. It may be a bit exaggerated, but it’s possible to see some Lamborghini Urus vibes when looking at the car from the front.
At the rear, we see long LED taillights. What’s different from the previous model is that this time the Cupra logo is integrated into the rear taillight cluster. In addition, the model offers 8 different wheel options, making it quite generous in terms of exterior customization. There doesn’t seem to be a significant change in the interior of the car.
2024 refreshed Cupra Leon engine options and price!
The updated Cupra Leon will come with a choice of engine options: a 1.5 TSI producing 150 Hp with a 6-speed manual transmission, a 2.0 TSI with automatic transmission and all-wheel drive producing 204 Hp, a 2.0 TSI with automatic transmission and front-wheel drive producing 265 Hp, and a 2.0 TSI unit with Torque Splitter feature producing 333 Hp.
In addition to conventional internal combustion engines, models built on the 1.5 TSI unit producing 150 Hp with mild hybrid technology and the plug-in hybrid models built on the 2.0 TDI unit also producing 150 Hp will be offered, indicating that the models are also embracing the electrification trend.
The vehicles will be available for sale in Europe starting from July. It’s worth noting that there hasn’t been an official announcement regarding the 2024 Cupra Leon price or price lists yet.
