Tesla has been working on a new Model 3 for a while now. There have been a few occasions where we’ve had the opportunity to see glimpses of the electric car that we’ve been anticipating. Now, there’s a claim coming from China. According to the claims, production of the refreshed Tesla Model 3 has begun.
Refreshed Tesla Model 3 enters production
Reportedly, the updated Model 3, known as Project Highland, has entered trial production at the Gigafactory in Shanghai. While mass production is expected to commence next month, deliveries are planned to start in October. The expected price for the new model is $27,700.
According to recent information, the new Model 3 is said to be equipped with 66 kWh capacity M3P batteries. These batteries, which are based on Lithium, Manganese, Iron, and Phosphate, are expected to offer advantages in terms of range.
We know that Project Highland has been under development since the second quarter of 2022. Over the past few months, numerous spy photos of the new generation electric car have surfaced. We can already say that the updated Model 3 will come with a redesigned front, new taillights, and a revamped interior. The company also plans to equip it with an updated driver assistance system.
The U.S.-based electric car manufacturer, Tesla, is aiming to strengthen the market presence of its updated Model 3. On its official website, Tesla indicates the delivery date for the rear-wheel-drive version of the new Model 3 as October. Meanwhile, the all-wheel-drive version is marked for delivery in November.
