Elon Musk, who acquired Twitter with its millions of active users, made a series of innovations. He updated it under the name ‘X,’ which means everything. He changed the logo. In short, he shelved everything related to Twitter on the platform. In addition, he is also updating some features exclusively for Premium subscribers. However, Musk is not content with just that and continues to introduce new customs to the old village. Musk is preparing to expand the X Premium paid service by dividing it into different tiers. Here are the details…
X Premium will be divided into new tiers by completely removing ads!
X Premium is a name that has been frequently mentioned recently. Subscribers, who usually have some privileges by paying regular fees for the free platform, will have their perks. So, did Elon Musk bring this innovation too? Although all the changes are associated with his name, the concept of subscription was already in place before the company changed hands. It was just called something else. Everyone first got to know this system as Twitter Blue.
Those who pay for X Premium have a bit more privileges than other users, thanks to Musk. Premium subscribers have the option to customize the app icon. They also get access to features like the edit button for posts and text formatting. They can even publish longer posts and videos. Moreover, they get access to X Pro (formerly known as TweetDeck). Additionally, Musk announced that the highly anticipated video and audio calling feature will be exclusive to Premium subscribers.
Currently, X Premium subscribers see fewer ads compared to other users when using the platform. However, in the future, Musk will offer users the option to completely eliminate ads. Of course, everything comes at a price. Premium subscriptions will be tiered, with a higher price for users who want to browse the platform without any ads.
The latest version of the X app is planned to introduce three new X Premium tiers: Basic, Standard, and Plus. Users in the Basic tier will continue to see ads regularly while using the platform. In the Standard tier, the platform will show fewer ads. The Plus tier will completely eliminate ads from the platform.
When it comes to subscription fees, X Premium users currently pay $8 per month. However, if you subscribe through the X app on iOS or Android, the fee increases because the App Store and Google Play Store charge a 30% commission fee. Subscribing through the app will cost you $11 per month. The exact fees for X’s new tiered system have not been finalized yet. It’s also unclear how existing subscribers will be transitioned to the new tiers.
