Apple disappointed in the Singles’ Day craze with iPhone 15 sales. Rivals Huawei and Xiaomi continue their rise. The first results for Singles’ Day sales in China, which surpassed even Black Friday sales, are in. Accordingly, Apple has shrunk compared to last year with iPhone 15 sales in China. However, two Chinese giants, Huawei Mate 60 series and Xiaomi 14 series, left their mark on Singles’ Day.
China Singles Day and Huawei Mate 60, Xiaomi 14 and iPhone 15 sales
Are Apple’s days of leadership in the Chinese market over? In this sense, although iPhone 15 sales have gone well in general, the Chinese market is bleeding. Singles’ Day sales results, one of the biggest sales days in China and the world, have emerged.
Accordingly, Apple’s iPhone 15 sales shrank by 6 percent compared to the same Singles’ Day sales last year. However, on the Huawei and Xiaomi side, things are going in the opposite direction. Accordingly, Huawei grew by 66 percent and Xiaomi by 23 percent.
Apple, and Tim Cook, actually prepared well for this sale day. With iPhone 15 sales already in decline in China, Cook has created campaigns for Chinese internet giants. Chinese Singles’ Day has become an online shopping frenzy, especially in recent years. While it is a good move in this sense, there are certain reasons why Apple’s sales in China are falling.
One of these is of course the embargo imposed on Huawei. However, despite this embargo in the past years, iPhone sales were quite good. In fact, iPhone has been the sole ruler of the market since the embargo. However, according to Chinese experts, both the embargo conditions getting more and more severe and Huawei’s production of its own 5G processor have changed everything.
Especially in the Far East market, 5G has been an important reason to buy for the last three years. In this sense, Huawei’s sales were also affected by the embargo of not being able to import 5G processors. There is a possibility that Xiaomi’s coming to a new level in terms of both design and hardware with the 14 series may have taken Chinese smartphone manufacturers one step forward.
Apple’s biggest problem that is currently undermining its sales is supply problems. Accordingly, Apple is having major problems with the supply of iPhone 15 even in China. In this sense, consumers are turning to competitors instead of waiting in line for the iPhone 15.
But what is this Singles’ Day? It is currently the world’s biggest one-day shopping campaign. The day, which first appeared in 1999 as an alternative to Valentine’s Day, takes place on November 11. The main reason for this is the 11/11 combination, that is, all ones coming together.
