According to new images, Apple has designed a Tetris clone for the prototype version of the third-generation iPod, which it is trying to release on the music player. Called Stacker, the game is controlled via the iPod’s scroll wheel.

The software was discovered by X user AppleDemoYT, known for finding rare prototype devices.

The prototype iPod, model number A1023, runs a prototype version of iPodOS 2.0, which includes Stacker. The pieces are moved left and right using the scroll wheel and drop when the center button is pressed. The goal is to clear the lines and score points, just like in Tetris.

Stacker is not the only game available on the prototype iPod, there is also a game called Block0. The device also includes a game called Klondike, which is most likely an early version of Solitaire. The iPod eventually received some games, including the aforementioned Solitaire and Brick.

Later versions of the iPod also received an official Tetris version, and games like Bejeweled, Mini Golf, Mahjong, Zuma, Cubis 2 and Pac-Man were also available.

The iPod Classic was discontinued in 2014 and the iPod Touch was retired in 2022, ending the era of the standalone music player.
