iOS 18 will stand out with AI features
As the whole world transitions into a new era with the continuously developing AI, Apple is also trying to adapt to this trend. Having been less successful than its competitors, apart from Siri, Apple is starting to collaborate with major AI producers to introduce AI features in operating systems like iOS and macOS.
With just two weeks left until Apple’s WWDC conference, it is expected that Apple will present new AI features and home screen customization updates at this event. According to Mark Gurman, the update will introduce automatically generated personalized emojis, suggested replies for emails and messages, and more.
Here are the 10 AI features expected to come with iOS 18:
- Photo retouching.
- Voice memo transcription.
- Suggested replies to emails and messages.
- Auto-generated emojis based on the content of a user’s messages, providing all-new emoji for any occasion beyond the existing catalog.
- Improved Safari web search.
- Faster and more reliable searches in Spotlight.
- More natural interactions with Siri.
- A more advanced version of Siri designed for the Apple Watch, optimized for “on-the-go tasks.”
- Smart recaps of missed notifications and individual messages, web pages, news articles, documents, notes, and more.
- Developer tools for Xcode.
Although no official announcement has been made by Apple, the expected features seem sufficient compared to competitors like Galaxy AI. However, Apple is expected to gradually introduce these features to users in beta versions before fully releasing iOS 18 in September.
