What is Hunt: Showdown 1896? New update or sequel coming?
The appearance of Hunt: Showdown 1896 on the ESRB list has caused quite a stir among fans of the game. The listing indicates that the game will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and could be a precursor to a possible sequel or a major update coming on August 15th. According to the ESRB, Hunt: Showdown 1896 received a “Mature 17+” rating as a game with plenty of blood, violence and gore.
According to the ESRB’s summary, “This is a first-person monster-hunting game set in a Victorian-themed fantasy world. Players kill zombie-like creatures and human opponents using bladed clubs, batons, brass knuckles, and pistols.” Furthermore, “Some of the weapons allow players to crush zombies’ heads or cut off their limbs. One type of zombie explodes into blood and internal organs when it dies; another is depicted wearing a cloak of human skin.”
In an announcement made in May, it was stated that Hunt: Showdown would say goodbye to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms as of August 15. However, a free upgrade will be available for the current-gen versions.
Hunt: Showdown was released in full in 2021 after several years of early access. The game’s large fanbase continues to live an experience full of excitement with newly added content and improvements. Let’s see what the new game or update will be like.
