The latest season of Diablo 4 has arrived, bringing fresh content and a new battle pass. Season 5, known as the Season of the Infernal Hordes, introduces new seasonal story quests and a new activity. The Infernal Hordes, inspired by Vampire Survivors, challenge players to survive endless waves of monsters, earning loot and gold. Surviving the hordes and defeating enough enemies to collect a significant amount of Aether allows players to open multiple tiers of chests for additional materials and rewards.
Diablo 4 Season 5 comes with new uniques for all classes
Season of the Infernal Hordes brings 15 brand new Unique items, adding opportunities for new builds across all classes. Here are the new Uniques available in Season 5:
All classes
- Crown of Lucion – Helm: Each time you use a Skill with a Resource Cost, gain 5-15% increased damage, and Resource Cost is increased by 30% for 4 seconds, stacking up to 5 times.
- Endurant Faith – Gloves: When you would be damaged for at least 40% of your Maximum Life at once, it is instead distributed over the next 2 seconds and reduced by 10-30%.
- Shard of Verathiel – 1 Handed Sword: Basic Skills deal 50-200% increased damage but additionally cost 25 Primary Resource.
- Rakanoth’s Wake – Boots: When you cast a Skill with a Cooldown, you explode, dealing Fire damage.
- Locran’s Talisman – Amulet: Your skills gain 0.10-0.40% Critical Strike Chance bonus per point of Primary Resource you have, up to 10-40%. Each point of Primary Resource above 100 grants 0.2% Critical Strike Damage instead.
Barbarian
- Unbroken Chain – Amulet: Casting Steel Grasp reduces Iron Maelstrom’s Cooldown by 3.3-10.0 seconds. Enemies damaged by Iron Maelstrom deal 10-30% less damage for 6 seconds.
- The Third Blade – 1 Handed Sword: Your Weapon Mastery Skills are now also Core Skills that have no Cooldowns but cost Fury, dealing 50-70% of normal damage. Their Fury costs are reduced by 5 for any additional Charges the Skill would have had.
Druid
- The Basilisk – Staff: When you first hit an enemy with an Earth Skill, Petrify them for 3 seconds. Petrifying an enemy additionally deals 4412-26472 Physical Damage.
- Mjolnic Ryng: While Cataclysm is active, you gain unlimited Spirit and deal 40-100% increased damage.
Necromancer
- The Mortacrux – Dagger: When consuming a Corpse, there is a 10-30% chance to also create a decaying Skeletal Simulacrum that seeks enemies but cannot attack. When it dies, it explodes for 5,514 Shadow damage. This effect is treated as a Macabre Skill.
- Path of Trag’oul: Bone Prison traps a larger area and fires 10-30 Bone Splinters at enemies trapped within. Increase your Maximum Essence by 2 for 10 seconds each time these Bone Splinters hit an enemy.
Diablo 4 season of the Infernal Hordes battle pass details and rewards
As you complete the new seasonal activity and various questlines, you will earn battle pass XP. Diablo 4 battle passes feature 90 tiers of rewards, with about a third available for free. The rest of the rewards are part of the premium battle pass, which costs approximately $10. There is also an accelerated version of the battle pass that unlocks the first 20 tiers automatically, costing around $25. Key premium items include the Awoken Archenemy Armor Sets and the Awoken Aetheric Steed Mount.
Game adjustments and improvements in Infernal Hordes
Season 5 also brings adjustments to the game’s flow. Players will experience increased XP gain in the early levels, helping them reach the late-game faster. Additionally, Uber Uniques have been renamed to Mythic Uniques and are now a distinct purple color when they drop, making them easier to identify.
