Apple is coming to iPhone users with a surprise update. iOS 17.6.2 version will be available to users soon and will bring various bug fixes, security patches and performance improvements. With just a month before the launch of iOS 18, Apple will offer this small but important update for those who are not yet using beta versions.
What will iOS 17.6.2 bring?
Apple’s new update is known to include important security fixes and system improvements for iPhone and iPad users, rather than major innovations. Expected to arrive shortly after the iOS 17.6.1 update released last week, iOS 17.6.2 aims to make users’ devices more secure and stable.
Apple aims to close security vulnerabilities with this update. For example, iOS 17.6 version focused more on performance improvements, except for small innovations such as the “Catch Up” feature added for the Apple TV app. Therefore, iOS 17.6.2 is expected to follow a similar approach and fix basic system bugs.
iOS 18 will be available for iPhone XS/XR and later models in September. The new version will come with many new features such as placing app icons wherever you want on the home screen, dark and toned icon options, and reacting to messages with any emoji. Apple Intelligence features will also be added to supported devices in October with iOS 18.1.
