A new leak has brought the Destiny mobile game, which has been rumored to be in development for a while, back into the spotlight. According to it, Bungie’s popular Destiny series mobile game will be called Destiny Rising .
Destiny Rising mobile game in development
Rumors of a Destiny mobile game first emerged last year, with the company’s job postings hinting at a project that would bring the series to smartphones. However, earlier this year, claims emerged that the game had been canceled after Bungie cut staff.
The company’s downsizing led many users to assume that unannounced projects like a mobile port were shelved. However, the latest leak puts such speculations to rest as Destiny Rising appears to be back in development after over a year.
It was stated that the Destiny mobile game was developed by Bungie and NetEase . Accordingly, it was reported that the game continues to be developed by two studios under the code name Destiny Rising. It should be noted that NetEase is also the developer of games such as Knives Out, Once Human and Dead by Daylight Mobile.
Series like Call of Duty are making the transition to mobile, so it’s only natural that Bungie would bring Destiny to mobile considering the wide audience and revenue potential. Of course, time will tell if the game will be successful.
