Hundreds of radios used for communication in Lebanon were blown up simultaneously by Israel in recent days. A similar attack was reported to have occurred again in Lebanon. According to initial reports, Israel targeted the pagers of Hezbollah members. It was claimed that more than 500 radios were blown up.
Israel detonated more than 500 pagers simultaneously
A large number of radio devices reportedly belonging to Hezbollah members exploded in Lebanon’s capital Beirut and southern regions. Israel is allegedly intensifying its cyber attacks targeting Hezbollah. This attack was the second cyber-attack organized by Israel against Hezbollah in the recent period.
It is believed that the explosions occurred as a result of remote triggering of explosives planted in radios by Israel. Accordingly, similar explosions were reported in southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut.
The walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah members were smaller than a push-button telephone and carried at waist level. These devices, which are very difficult to access and detonate remotely, Israel managed to detonate simultaneously as a result of its attacks.
Israel has not yet made an official statement on the attacks. However, it is observed that Israel has increased its operations targeting Hezbollah’s military and communication infrastructure. These developments are likely to further escalate tensions between Israel and Hezbollah.
