Cupra, the new favorite of the Volkswagen Group, is preparing to enter the compact car market with a bang with its brand new electric vehicle Raval. The 25 thousand Euro Raval, which is planned to be released next year, has been spotted during the test phase. But what else makes this vehicle so special? Details are in our news…
Built on Volkswagen’s MEB Entry platform, the Cupra Raval is in its final tests!
While the photos reveal the design details of the vehicle, the fact that the vehicle was spotted with very little camouflage during tests around the Nürburgring suggests that it is in the final stages of development. From a design point of view, the Cupra Raval takes its cues from the brand’s previously unveiled UrbanRebel concept.
However, the aggressive lines of that concept have been replaced by a slightly softer design that is more suitable for everyday use. For example, the front end of the car has a simpler structure than the UrbanRebel, but it still reflects Cupra’s sporty character.
Cupra Raval is built on Volkswagen’s MEB Entry platform. For those of you who don’t know, this platform is also shared with other compact electric vehicles such as the Volkswagen ID.2 and Skoda Epiq, allowing the Raval to have a body that is about 4 meters long.
The interior features a large digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment screen. On the power unit side, the Raval will offer 166 kW (226 horsepower) in a single-motor option. However, there is talk of a more powerful twin-engine, all-wheel drive version.
If this option is launched, the Raval will not only be a city car, but also a powerful sports car. Production of the new Cupra Raval will take place at the brand’s Martorell plant in Spain, and rumor has it that it will be quickly integrated into the European market.
