Threads, the X (Twitter)-like microblogging platform launched by Meta in 2023, attracted great attention in its early days and sat at the top of the agenda. However, it could not maintain this popularity over time. According to the latest information, one of Threads’ competitors has managed to stand out by leaving it behind. Faces do not seem to be smiling in Meta.
Bluesky surpassed Threads in the number of active users!
Founded in 2019 and initially accepting members only by invitation, Bluesky gained a great momentum in a short time and reached a large user base. According to the information reported, the platform’s mobile application has surpassed Threads by reaching 3.5 million daily active users.
Although Threads still has 1.5 times more users than Bluesky, this ratio was 5 times in early November. According to the recent announcement, the platform, which has 22 million members, has achieved a remarkable growth rate of 300 per cent, especially with the election period in the United States.
Bluesky, which is said to resemble the old version of Twitter, faced some technical difficulties with its rapid growth. So much so that while the platform experienced access interruptions from time to time, there was an increase in fraud complaints. Of course, this should not be surprising because Bluesky did not expect such growth. The company is expected to improve its infrastructure and increase moderation.
