Microsoft has announced Microsoft Edge Game Assist, an in-game browser interface. This feature, available for beta testing in Windows 11, aims to automatically find and show hints and guides related to the game you’re running while you play. Here are the details…
How does Microsoft Edge Game Assist work?
In an effort to further integrate gaming with its other products, Microsoft is currently testing a feature in Edge that allows you to access your data, cookies, autofill and favourites using the profile you’re logged into, and can be pinned to the Game Bar above your game as you play.
This feature is currently available in English. Users will need to join the preview and set Microsoft Edge Beta 132 as their default browser to use the feature. You can take a look at the feature activation video below:
As this feature is still in beta testing, the user will need to find content for the majority of games. However, some games, such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Diablo IV, and Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga are already supported and will automatically show the information. Microsoft said it will add more games during the tests.
Games currently supported for the Microsoft Edge Game Assist feature are:
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Diablo IV
- Fortnite
- Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga
- League of Legends
- Minecraft
- Overwatch 2
- Roblox
- Valorant
Microsoft Edge Game Assist only supports keyboard and mouse for now. However, Microsoft plans to add support for portable devices and gamepads in the future. In addition, according to details from the company, during the test period, Microsoft will collect feedback and suggestions from players to improve its new feature.
So how did you find Microsoft’s new feature?
