TCL rivals OLED in Mini LED TVs: QM6K series unveiled
The QM6K features TCL’s first-ever Halo Control Technology Suite. This includes a “Super High Energy LED Chip” that improves light efficiency in Mini LEDs, a “Compact Micro Lens” that makes light control more precise, and Quantum Dot Technology that extends the color gamut. These enhancements therefore enable the TV to support 98% DCI-P3 color gamut. The screen performance improvements are as follows:
- Micro OD technology: TCL has reduced the distance between the screen backlight and the LCD panel to zero (OD Zero), virtually eliminating the “halo effect” or light bleed on the screen.
- High refresh rate: With a refresh rate of 144Hz and LD500 Precision Dimming, the QM6K delivers a high quality picture even in fast-moving scenes.
- HDR and audio technologies: Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and Dolby Atmos support for a superior visual and audio experience. And AMD FreeSync support ensures a seamless gaming experience for gamers.

QM6K will be available in different size options with its frameless design:
50-inch: $750
55-inch: $800
65-inch: $1,000

Google TV support
The QM6K runs on the Google TV operating system. This means users will have access to a wide range of apps and content. TCL has not yet announced a release date for the QM6K, but it is expected that this model will be released alongside other TV models equipped with Halo Control Technology throughout 2025.
