MSI proudly unveiled its next-generation portable gaming console Claw 8 AI+ at CES 2025. Making great strides in performance and design, MSI came up with Intel’s latest Lunar Lake Core Ultra processor and XeSS graphics technology in this model.
What does MSI Claw 8 AI+ offer?
At first glance, Claw 8 AI+ attracts attention with its eye-catching two-tone design. MSI has reshaped the contours to improve the ergonomics of the device, making it comfortable to use even during prolonged use. The controls have also been redesigned for more precision and ease of use. In FPS and action games, these innovations could give gamers a big advantage.
At the heart of the device is Intel’s powerful Core Ultra 7 258V processor. This processor will deliver performance never seen before in portable gaming devices. MSI utilizes XeSS, one of the latest graphics technologies, for smoother and more immersive visuals in games.
The Claw 8 AI+ uses an 8-inch IPS display technology. The display has wide viewing angles and vibrant colors. MSI did not choose an OLED screen, prioritizing durability and longevity. While this choice may be criticized by some gamers, the overall performance of the device easily makes up for it.
MSI also introduced the next-generation MSI Center M application with the device. This software offers Claw 8 AI+ users an easy navigation through the multi-platform interface. During the demonstration, the device performed strongly on the Steam platform to the delight of gamers.
The Claw 8 AI+ will play an important role in the fierce competition between Intel’s Lunar Lake processors and AMD’s Strix Point processors in the portable gaming device market through 2025. The Claw 7 AI+, introduced alongside the device, offers similar features in a smaller form factor. However, it has a simpler design with a black shell and a more minimal look compared to the Claw 8’s visuals.
MSI plans to launch the Claw 8 AI+ and Claw 7 AI+ globally in the first quarter of 2025. While pricing has yet to be announced, these models are sure to make a big impact in the world of portable gaming.
