Nintendo’s highly anticipated next-generation portable game console, Switch 2, is on the agenda with leaked details. The information shared by OnLeaks before CES 2025 revealed important clues about the design and technical specifications of the device. Switch 2’s design, screen size and innovations differ significantly from previous models. The details are in our news…
Nintendo Switch 2: Coming with a bigger screen and new design
First of all, Switch 2 comes with a larger screen than its predecessors. The new model’s screen size is 8.4 inches, which is considerably larger than the Switch OLED’s 7-inch display and the original Switch’s 6.2-inch screen. This increase is made possible by further thinning the screen bezels. The overall dimensions of the device are 271 x 116.4 x 31.4 mm. So, it will have a larger body than its predecessor.
The top of Switch 2 also draws attention with renewed details. In addition to the power and volume buttons, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port. Therefore, the device can be used comfortably on the table even while charging. There is also a wider and more stable kickstand.
The Joy-Con controllers have been made slightly larger and optimized for the screen size while maintaining the overall design. While the Switch 2’s official release date has yet to be announced, the leaks suggest that the device could launch in March or April 2025.
Meanwhile, according to analyst Matt Piscatella, the Switch 2 is expected to sell around 4.3 million units in the US alone through 2025. So what do you think about this console? You can share your opinions in the comments section below…
