SCS Software has officially announced the long-awaited bus update for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS 2). With the release of a new teaser video, it has been confirmed that the popular truck simulation game will expand with a new transportation mode: passenger bus travel. One particular detail from the trailer has generated major excitement among Turkish players.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 will offer bus journeys
The new update isn’t just a mod—it will be introduced as an official feature integrated directly into the game. The bus system will include dedicated passenger terminals, licensed bus brands, bus stops, a new physics system, and passenger animations. Players will now be able to take the wheel of a bus for a fresh driving experience, in addition to driving trucks.

One of the most striking parts of the trailer was the map shown. The thumbnail image featured a map of Turkey—specifically showing Tuz Gölü (Salt Lake) and its surrounding area, sourced from the Turkish General Directorate of Highways. This strongly suggests that a broader portion of Turkey will be included in the game.
Currently, Turkey‘s Thrace region is included in ETS 2 through the “Road to the Black Sea” expansion pack. However, with this new development, it’s expected that a much larger part of the country—particularly Central Anatolia—will be added to the game.
The new bus system will significantly diversify ETS 2’s gameplay. Unlike truck driving, players will have to pick up and drop off passengers at stops, follow a set timetable, and be scored based on passenger satisfaction.
SCS Software has not yet provided a specific release date for the new system.
