Despite the trillion-dollar investments from Middle Eastern countries, the Donald Trump administration is keeping a distance from the supply of Nvidia’s advanced AI chips to the region. The deepening economic and technological relations of countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with China are increasing the US government’s reservations about providing these technologies to the region.
Trump will not supply AI chips to the Middle East
Authorities say that providing advanced Nvidia technologies to countries such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE would increase the risk of indirect technology transfer to China. The AI projects carried out by the UAE and Saudi Arabia, called HUMAIN AI and Stargate, require hundreds of thousands of Nvidia chips.

While these projects represent a major increase in Nvidia’s sales volume, the US administration has not yet made a clear decision on providing these chips to Middle Eastern countries. It is stated that the government is also considering conditions such as completely banning the use of Chinese AI software or imposing strict regulations.
The Trump administration’s high tariffs and strict stance on technology transfer are creating significant tension in relations with the Middle East. While major investments from the region are economically important, concerns about strategic technology sharing are effective in many areas, from politics to technological cooperation.
This stance by the US will also have a significant impact on the future of technology cooperation between the Middle East and China. So what do you think about this issue? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
