Xiaomi announced that its high-performance electric car SU7 Ultra broke the record on the Nürburgring track. The vehicle, which took to the track with the production version, completed a full lap of the Nürburgring in Germany, which is considered one of the most challenging tracks in the world, in a time of 7 minutes and 4.957 seconds.
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra breaks speed record
This time surpassed the record of 7 minutes and 7.55 seconds set by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT in 2023. Thus, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra became the fastest production electric vehicle in the history of the Nürburgring.

In October last year, the prototype version of the SU7 Ultra achieved a time of 6 minutes and 46.874 seconds on the same track. At that time, the prototype took the title of the fastest on the track in the four-door car category, ending the long-term dominance of European-American manufacturers in this field.
However, such times of prototype vehicles are generally not compared to the production versions. As a result, the new rating announced this week was recorded as the best performance achieved by a commercially available model at the Nürburgring.
The production version of the SU7 Ultra has the same powertrain as the prototype model. The electric motor, developed by Xiaomi and called the “Super Motor V8s”, can reach up to 27,200 rpm. The total power produced by the engine is announced as 1,548 horsepower, while the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds. Its top speed is at 350 km/h.
The starting price of the SU7 Ultra, which draws attention with its performance data, was determined as approximately $74,000. This price makes the vehicle approximately 2.5 times more expensive than the standard version of the same series.
