Windows 11 has released a new update to fix the crashing issue when opening games. Players using Windows 11 version 24H2 can fix this problem by installing the KB5063060 update.
Windows 11 fixes crashing issues in games
The source of the problem is related to the anti-cheat software called Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC). Due to some incompatibilities in the Windows 11 24H2 version, the system would unexpectedly restart when opening games that included EAC. For this reason, Microsoft did not offer the June 2025 security update KB5060842 to users.

The released KB5063060 update, this patch with the build number 26100.4351, eliminates the crashing issue in games that use EAC. In this way, users can both play games without any problems and get the latest security patches.
However, the problem is not completely over. Some systems with Intel Alder Lake+ and vPro processors may still experience crashes during game launch due to incompatibility with EAC. Microsoft recommends updating games and Easy Anti-Cheat software to more recent versions in case of this situation.
Windows 11 24H2 users are advised to install the KB5063060 update automatically via Windows Update or manually from the Microsoft Update Catalog. It is also important to keep games and anti-cheat programs up to date for compatibility and stability.
