Instagram has long allowed users to share songs they listen to on Spotify in Stories. However, these shares were limited to a silent sticker that only included a link to the song. This has changed with the company’s new update. Now, users can share tracks from Spotify with audio in Stories.
Instagram increases Spotify integration
With the new feature, tracks shared on Spotify are included in Stories with a 15-second audio preview. This allows followers to hear a small part of the song the sharer is listening to directly on Instagram. Being able to listen to a section of the song without leaving the app both improves the user experience and adds interaction to music sharing.

Meta states that this change was developed in collaboration with Spotify. The system, which previously offered only a visual sticker and a redirect link, now aims to increase the time users stay in the app by providing direct audio-supported content. It is reported that the feature is active on both iOS and Android devices.
Instagram is not limited to just audio sharing, and has also announced new fonts for Stories and Reels. First, a special limited-time font inspired by artist Rosalía’s handwriting will be offered. This font includes characters like “:-)” and “<3” as well as specially drawn symbols. Users will be able to access Rosalía’s special hand-drawn characters when writing these symbols.
Instagram’s move is considered part of its efforts to make the platform a more active hub for music discovery. Enriching the music sharing experience is seen as an important move against TikTok’s influence that drives global music trends.
The new feature allows users to personalize their content, while also making song discovery and sharing on social media more natural and effective.
