Xiaomi has quietly begun releasing the Android 16-based HyperOS 2.3 update. This makes it the first manufacturer, following Google, to release the new Android version globally. The update was initially rolled out to the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro models.
Xiaomi Releases HyperOS 2.3
According to information shared by Xiaomi Time, the Xiaomi 15 became the first device to receive a stable version of Android 16. The update, distributed with version number OS2.0.217.0.WOCMIXM, was not limited to China but has also been released globally.

This week, the Xiaomi 14T Pro also received the stable update. European users are receiving OS2.0.214.0.WNNEUXM, while international users are receiving OS2.0.214.0.WNNMIXM.
The stable version is currently only available for these two models. However, Android 16 beta versions are actively being tested on other devices from the company, including the Redmi K70 series, Poco F7 series, Poco X7 Pro, Xiaomi Mix Flip, and Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro.
Device owners are automatically notified when the update is ready. Users can also manually check for the update by tapping the HyperOS logo in Settings > About Phone.
While HyperOS 2.3, based on Android 16, doesn’t offer radical changes to the user interface, it does include several optimizations focused on improving the overall experience. Highlights of the update include smoother animations, improved memory management, and increased system-wide stability.
This release also includes Android 16’s latest security features and new system-level privacy improvements. More granular controls in privacy settings and a new Privacy Sandbox infrastructure integrated into the Android ecosystem enhance the security of user data while ensuring a more balanced relationship with ad-driven apps.
