Battlefield, which had lagged behind the Call of Duty series in recent years, has made a major comeback with its new game, Battlefield 6. Released after a four-year hiatus, the game received a much more positive response than its predecessor, Battlefield 2042. The game’s success spurred Electronic Arts into action, and the company has charted a new course for the Battlefield series.
More Battlefield games to come
At the heart of this plan is the decision to release a new Battlefield game every year, as in the rival Call of Duty series. Michael Pachter, a renowned gaming analyst, revealed that he obtained this information from a conversation with Byron Beede, the head of the Battlefield series.

To ensure a continuous game cycle, Electronic Arts will employ three different game studios. Each studio will release a new game every three years. Once this system is in place, players will be offered a new Battlefield game every year. This plan is expected to take five to six years to fully implement. This process is considered essential for the three-studio system to be fully established.
However, it is unclear how this strategy will be received by series fans. There are comments that the annual release of new games in the Call of Duty series has diminished its overall quality. It’s been stated that the success of Battlefield 6, the latest game that revitalized the Battlefield franchise, was the result of a four-year development process. This suggests that fans of the series may not be satisfied with the constant cycle of new games.
