ASELSAN, a leading company in the Turkish defense industry, continues to make a name for itself with the cutting-edge technologies it develops. ASELSAN General Manager and CEO Ahmet Akyol announced on social media that the ASELFLIR-600, one of the company’s newest sources of pride, has been integrated into the Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV (Attack Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and successfully completed a flight over the capital.
ASELFLIR-600 Makes Us Swell
In his post, Ahmet Akyol shared stunning views of Ankara captured by the ASELFLIR-600. The clarity and quality of the images demonstrated the system’s capabilities. Akyol emphasized his belief in the project and the value he places on the effort, saying, “These images are the fruits of a team’s hard work.” He expressed his gratitude to the ASELSAN and BAYKAR teams for their contributions to this significant achievement.
The ASELFLIR-600 stands out as a next-generation electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance, and targeting system developed for airborne platforms. This system, described by Ahmet Akyol as “the world’s highest-performance camera in its field,” can perform critical tasks such as high-resolution imaging, target detection, tracking, and laser designation even from very long distances.
This successful integration has once again demonstrated the strong collaboration between ASELSAN and BAYKAR, two giants in the Turkish defense industry. Equipping the Bayraktar AKINCI, developed by BAYKAR and actively involved in strategic missions, with cutting-edge technology like the ASELFLIR-600 elevates the platform’s operational power and field effectiveness. This development has been recognized as a significant step that reinforces Turkey’s commitment to producing world-class systems in defense technologies using domestic and national resources.
