TCL has introduced the QM9K series, Google TV’s first television with Gemini AI support and the new presence detection feature. This new 4K QD-Mini LED TV is available in four sizes.
TCL Announces Gemini AI TV
The QM9K features Google TV’s Ambient Display feature. When it detects someone in front of the TV, it automatically turns on, displays screensavers, and responds to voice commands. This feature works thanks to the TV’s built-in mmWave presence sensor. The sensor automatically turns the TV on and off when it detects a presence in the room.
The TCL QM9K features a wide-viewing CrystGlow WHVA panel. It is available in 65, 75, 85, and 98-inch sizes. The panel offers 4K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and 6500 nits of brightness. It also comes with the TCL Halo Control System, which features Micro OD to reduce image blur.

At the heart of the TV is the TCL AiPQ Pro processor. It supports HDR formats such as Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG. The built-in Bang & Olufsen sound system supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+, and DTS:X.
Ports include RF input, Ethernet, one USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, an optical audio port, and four HDMI ports (one with eARC support). The TV also supports Wi-Fi 6.
Far-field microphones allow users to interact with the Gemini AI using voice commands. This simplifies tasks such as controlling the TV, creating screensavers, and getting news summaries. Gemini provides personalized responses based on the active Google TV profile.
The TCL QM9K QD-Mini LED 4K Smart TV has been announced for availability at the end of September, but pricing information has not yet been released.
