Xiaomi will be the first Android brand to use the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The battery capacities of these new-generation phones are attracting attention.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is coming
Leader Yogesh Brar, in a post on X, stated that the Xiaomi 16 series will feature three models: the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, and Xiaomi 16 Pro Max. According to Brar, the standard model will feature a 7,000mAh battery, the Pro model a 6,300mAh battery, and the Pro Max a 7,500mAh battery.

This is a significant improvement compared to previous models. For example, the Xiaomi 15 is known to have a 5,400mAh battery. If the Xiaomi 16 comes with a similar compact design, this would represent a significant battery increase. The Pro model’s 6,300mAh battery is a minor upgrade from the Xiaomi 15 Pro’s 6,100mAh capacity. However, the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max stands out with its massive battery.
These significant increases are thought to be possible thanks to improvements in silicon-carbon batteries, internal optimizations, or thicker designs. Xiaomi will have to wait until February or March to release these devices.
According to information provided by Yogesh Brar, not only Xiaomi but also other flagship phones will feature large batteries. These include the 6,500mAh Vivo X300 Pro, the 7,550mAh OPPO Find X9 Pro, and the 7,000mAh OnePlus 15.
