The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is making serious waves on Geekbench this time inside what appears to be the upcoming iQOO 15. And based on the latest scores, Qualcomm’s next flagship chip isn’t just flexing, it’s dominating.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 sets new Geekbench record

A new Geekbench entry has surfaced, showing the iQOO 15 model number “vivo V2505A” blazing past the 12,000 multi-core mark. To be exact, it posted a 3,824 single-core and 12,402 multi-core score, easily outclassing the previous 8 Elite Gen 5 listings.
iQOO 15 goes head-to-head with Apple’s flagship
That multi-core number isn’t just high, it’s historic. Compared to Apple’s latest iPhone 17 Pro Max, the iQOO 15’s test unit posts roughly 30% better multi-core performance. For reference, other Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 sightings like the Xiaomi 17 Pro and OnePlus 15 haven’t broken 12,000.
More than just raw power under the hood
The benchmark also revealed a few more key specs:
- 16 GB RAM
- Adreno 840 GPU
- Android 14
- Clock speeds higher than previously tested iQOO 15 units
The iQOO 15 had shown up earlier on Geekbench with lower performance, likely due to early firmware or downclocked silicon. This time, though, the gloves are off.
iQOO 15 launch may land in October
While iQOO hasn’t officially confirmed a release date, current leaks suggest a late October reveal for the iQOO 15. That lines up with the usual launch windows for iQOO’s flagship series and puts it in direct contention with year-end heavyweights.
Qualcomm’s Firestarter chip is just getting warmed up
With a 12K+ score in the books and Apple already in the rearview, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is shaping up to be the mobile chip to beat in late 2025. If this benchmark holds up in the real world, Qualcomm may have just flipped the script on flagship performance.
