Mazda’s new electric SUV, the EZ-60, which it calls its “dream car,” has launched in the Chinese market. With a competitive starting price of just $16,800, this model is poised to be launched in other global markets, including Europe and North America, as the CX-6e, starting next year. Here are the details.
Mazda EZ-60 Receives High Value
Mazda’s joint venture partner in China, Changan Mazda, announced that it had received over 10,000 pre-orders just 24 hours after the EZ-60’s global debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. By May 16, this number had surpassed 20,000, positioning the EZ-60 as the fastest-growing new-energy SUV to achieve this success. According to the latest data, orders have surpassed 40,000.

The EZ-60 offers buyers both fully electric (EV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options. The model, available in six different variants, ranges in price from $16,800 to $22,600. The all-electric EZ-60 version starts at $19,600.
Similar in size to the Tesla Model Y, the EZ-60 measures 4,850 mm long, 1,935 mm wide, and 1,620 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,902 mm. The electric SUV, featuring the brand’s new “Soul of Motion” design language, has a modern look with a redesigned Mazda logo at the front, sporty new headlights, and a full-length LED light bar that stretches across the front fascia.
The interior features a massive 26.45-inch floating infotainment screen, which the company describes as having “the largest size, thinnest body, and narrowest bezel in its class.” A 50-inch AR head-up display (HUD) is standard across all trim levels. Buyers can upgrade to a 100-inch glasses-free 3D (naked-eye 3D) HUD.

The EZ-60 EV version is equipped with a 77.94 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, providing a range of 600 km according to the CLTC standard. The EREV versions combine a smaller 31.73 kWh LFP battery with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine. This hybrid setup provides approximately 200 km of electric range, with a total range expected to exceed 1,000 km (620 miles).
The EZ-60 is Mazda’s second EV model, following the EZ-6 electric sedan launched in China. This next-generation electric vehicle will be rebranded as the Mazda CX-6e and will be available in global markets starting in 2026. Since Mazda has stopped its sales network in our country for an indefinite period, this model will not be on sale in our country unless there is a change.
