Following the launch of Opera Neon, the company is expanding its AI features to its other browsers, including Opera GX and Opera One. Opera announced the expansion of its partnership with Google to more deeply integrate the latest Gemini models into its products.
Accelerated AI Sidebar Coming to 80 Million Users!
This means that not only Opera Neon but also Opera One and Opera GX users will now have access to the new Gemini-powered AI sidebar, which offers context-based summaries, tab comparisons, and file/image/video analysis.

Opera shared additional noteworthy details in today’s announcement:
“Opera AI enables file analysis across multiple file types, including audio input and output, as well as images and video. The engine has been rebuilt with a new architecture for speed, adopting the agent-based engine from Opera Neon. This enables 20% faster responses.”
For privacy-conscious users, Opera states that its browsers offer full control over what is and isn’t shared with AI through clear privacy controls.
Per Wetterdal, Opera’s Vice President of Commercial, commented on the announcement:
“AI is reshaping how people interact with the web, and the browser is a natural entry point for these experiences. (…) Thanks to our partnership with Google, we can give our users the experiences they want through local search and AI features in the Opera One and Opera GX browsers for free. Users of our most advanced browser, Opera Neon, already have access to Gemini 3 Pro.”
The company states that the new capabilities in Opera One, Opera GX, and Opera Neon will bring these features to over 80 million users.
