Capcom continues its successful strategy for the Resident Evil series without slowing down. Alternately releasing new games and remakes of legendary classics, the company intends to continue the massive success it achieved with Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4. While the countdown continues for Resident Evil Requiem, set to be released on February 27, 2026, Dusk Golem, a reliable source of leaks for the series, has revealed the dates for the next two remake projects.
Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake Coming in 2027
The long-awaited news for Resident Evil Code Veronica, originally a Dreamcast exclusive, has finally arrived. According to Dusk Golem, the game will be announced next year and released in 2027. The game takes place three months after the events of Resident Evil 2 and tells the story of siblings Claire and Chris Redfield as they battle a virus outbreak at a facility in Antarctica.

The leaks don’t stop there. Following Code Veronica, Capcom’s schedule includes Resident Evil Zero Remake, a game that delves into the series’ roots. This title is expected to be released in 2028.
Resident Evil Zero chronologically tells the story before the first game. It focuses on the horrors experienced by S.T.A.R.S. officer Rebecca Chambers and prisoner Billy Coen in an abandoned training facility outside Raccoon City, and is known for its mechanic of controlling both characters simultaneously.
If these leaks are accurate, Capcom’s schedule for the next four years will be as follows:
- 2026: Resident Evil Requiem (RE9)
- 2027: Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake
- 2028: Resident Evil Zero Remake
This strategy is reminiscent of the company’s previous strategy of releasing Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 3 (2020) remakes back-to-back. Dusk Golem’s previous accurate prediction that Leon would be a playable character in Requiem increases the credibility of these leaks.
