Technology giant Samsung is preparing to turn a new page in the foldable smartphone market. According to the latest industry leaks, the company is actively working on a new device with an extra-wide display to complement its current foldable offerings.
Samsung May Launch a New Foldable Product Line
This new device, which has been rumored for some time, recently made a partial appearance within the One UI 9 interface animations. According to new information shared by the reliable industry source Digital Chat Station, this phone currently under development could hit the market within this year. It is expected to be introduced as an entirely new product line alongside the established Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series.

Display Specs and Design Details
Sources indicate that the device will feature a massive 7.6-inch internal display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. When unfolded, this screen resembles a tablet, significantly facilitating multitasking, document work, and general productivity. However, the phone’s extra-wide form factor when folded is noted as a potential disadvantage, as it may make one-handed use more challenging.
Powerful Hardware and Battery Capacity
Leaks specify that the new model will be powered by the high-end Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, aligning with 2026 performance standards. On the battery side, a typical capacity of approximately 4,800 mAh (4,660 mAh minimum) is expected. It is claimed that this power will be distributed across two separate cells—2,267 mAh and 2,393 mAh—within the device. Sources suggest that this ambitious model will initially be launched in the Chinese market.
Intensifying Market Competition
Reports also show that Apple will be another major international player in the large-scale foldable race in 2026. Meanwhile, Huawei emerges as the fourth mysterious player on the global stage. It is clear that the competition in the foldable market is set to become much more exciting.
