Rockstar Games has announced a major update for GTA 5. The free update, set to release on March 4, will bring the PC version on par with the console versions and introduce brand-new features.
Ray-Tracing Support for GTA 5 PC Version
One of the most notable additions in the update is the inclusion of ray-tracing support, which will enhance the visual quality of the game. Players will experience more realistic graphics with ray-traced global illumination, ambient occlusion, shadows, and reflections.

On the performance side, the update will add support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 1/3 technologies. DirectStorage support, which will significantly reduce loading times, will also be a key feature of the update. This technology will utilize SSD drives, allowing the game to load faster. Additionally, sound improvements will include Dolby Atmos support.
New content such as new vehicles, new modifications for Hao’s Special Works, Premium Test Drives, HSW Races, and HSW Time Trials will be added to the game. There will also be a new daily Wildlife Photography Challenge where players can photograph animals in nature.
The update will introduce GTA+ membership, which offers special benefits for GTA Online players. All players will also receive GTA$ and various starting items. However, the old and new versions of the game will run on separate GTA Online servers, meaning players who wish to play together must be on the same version.
