The new film, “With the 8th Pick,” doesn’t tell the entire story of Bryant’s life, but rather focuses on NBA draft night, one of the first and most critical moments in his career. While the story primarily revolves around Kobe Bryant, it will actually tell the events of draft night from the perspective of the team executives who wanted to sign him.

The film tells this important story through the eyes of John Nash, then the New Jersey Nets’ executive. Years ago, Nash foresaw Kobe Bryant’s potential as a major star and made significant efforts to bring him to the team.

However, Kobe Bryant, a Los Angeles Lakers fan, ultimately chose the Lakers and made a decision that changed NBA history. The film, centered around this incident, is described as a mashup of “The Social Network” and “Moneyball.”

“With the 8th Pick,” written by Alex Sohn and Gavin Johannsen, also features renowned American football star Tom Brady as one of the producers. The film’s director has yet to be announced.
