The beloved survival horror series Dying Light is launching this month with its new installment, The Beast. However, series developer Techland has already announced that it’s starting to develop a fourth installment.
Another Dying Light game is coming
The highly anticipated third installment of the series, Dying Light: The Beast, launches on September 19th. As we await the game’s release, Techland made a surprising announcement. Director Nathan Lemaire stated that the team continues to develop new ideas even as they work on Dying Light: The Beast. “What can we do in the next game, where can we go? We’re constantly talking about these things,” Lemaire said.

Originally launched as an expansion for Dying Light, The Beast has evolved into a full-fledged game. In fact, the studio now considers it Dying Light 3. Therefore, the new installment Lemaire mentioned is expected to be Dying Light 4.
However, we may have to wait a long time to experience the fourth installment. Even The Beast, a relatively smaller game, took three years to develop. Therefore, even if production begins immediately, Dying Light 4 seems unlikely to arrive before 2028 or 2029. Still, Techland’s commitment to continuing the series is a promising development for fans.
