HONOR, a global AI ecosystem brand taking the stage at the 2025 Snapdragon Summit, introduced innovative on-device AI solutions developed in partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. These solutions highlight Low Bit Quantization Technology for On-Device AI Models and Next-Generation Hybrid Search Technology. These innovations will be available to users on the HONOR Magic8 Series and HONOR MagicPad3 Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform. This collaboration, which combines HONOR’s agent-based AI capabilities with Qualcomm’s industry-leading mobile platforms, ushers in a new era of the smartphone experience by simultaneously delivering efficiency and processing power.
Redefining Efficiency: Breakthrough Technologies in On-Device AI
At the 2025 Snapdragon Summit in China, HONOR and Qualcomm Technologies announced a new phase of their collaboration, ushering in the “Dual Engine Era” in AI agent and performance.

HONOR, addressing the three fundamental challenges of on-device AI: processing power, memory, and energy consumption, has introduced the first Low Bit Quantization Technology for on-device models in the Android ecosystem. Thanks to the new Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, this innovation delivers a 15% increase in modeling processing power, a 20% reduction in modeling energy consumption, and a 30% savings in storage space compared to the previous-generation HONOR device. This breakthrough sets a new standard for the efficient use of intelligent agents on-device.
Complementing Low Bit Quantization Technology, HONOR also introduced Next-Generation Hybrid Search Technology, designed to fundamentally change how devices process and present information. Combining keyword indexing and vector indexing, the system performs combined matching across text, image, and video content in milliseconds, resulting in up to a 50% improvement in overall search performance. This advancement not only accelerates semantic search but also lays a strong foundation for intelligent agents, enabling faster and more accurate answers in a wide variety of real-world scenarios.
Unleash Creativity: An Industry-First Agent-Powered Magic Color
HONOR also introduced its industry-first agent-powered Magic Color feature. This innovation allows users to transform and reformat images and videos with unprecedented ease. Tasks such as finding images, extracting primary color tones, and applying those tones to a new target can be accomplished with just one-sentence commands. Magic Color combines efficient on-device AI models with advanced semantic understanding, enabling both everyday users and content creators to effortlessly achieve professional results. HONOR also plans to expand its agent-based AI capabilities to over 200 vertical scenarios and 3,000 general scenarios.
Redefining Performance: GPU-NPU Heterogeneous AI Supersampling in Gaming
Performance represents the second engine of this new era. In partnership with Qualcomm, HONOR has introduced the industry-leading Hyper-Fusion Core Architecture. This architecture deeply integrates the HONOR Turbo X’s multi-core performance engines with the Qualcomm Oryon CPU architecture. By dynamically scheduling resources across cores, the system maximizes energy efficiency and performance, providing a smoother and more responsive user experience.
HONOR also announced its industry-first GPU-NPU Heterogeneous AI Super Sampling Technology, built on Snapdragon platforms. This technology transforms low-resolution, low-frame-rate gaming experiences into high-resolution, high-frame-rate experiences. Similar to DLSS technology on PC, it utilizes AI to recreate details, motion, and lighting effects in real time. This allows demanding open-world games to run from 60fps to 120fps at 1080p resolution. It also reduces lag and jitter compared to traditional GPU-based methods, delivering a smoother and more immersive gaming experience.
These advancements demonstrate the vision of the “Dual Engine Era,” where AI and performance optimizations combine to redefine the user experience. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, the HONOR Magic8 Series and HONOR MagicPad3 Pro Series will be available in China next month.
