A new Twitter rival alternative is on the way

Meta is allegedly said to be working on a new, text based Twitter rival that will be rolled out soon.

Facebook and Instagram’s parent company, Meta, is developing a separate, text-based social network app. The new social network app will also compete with, Twitter’s rival Mastodon too.

A spokesperson from Meta said, “We’re investigating a standalone decentralized social network for exchanging text updates. We think there is a need for a dedicated area where public personalities and creators may offer timely information about their interests” in a press interview.

As we already know, since Elon Musk took control of the social media network late last year, Twitter has struggled to maintain its advertising base. As a reaction to Twitter’s decision to reinstate suspended accounts (due to scammers) and instate a paid account, businesses have also reduced their ad spending on the social network.

What we know about the new social network from Meta, is that the name (at least code-name) will be P92, and will allow users to log in using their Instagram credentials.
