Tesla has launched a remarkable campaign for the new Model 3 Premium and Performance models in the North American market. The automaker announced that it will offer one year of free Supercharging service to users who purchase these models.
The company completely ended its lifetime free Supercharging offer in 2018. However, since then, it continues to offer this advantage to its customers again within the scope of various promotions at certain periods.
Details and Scope of the Campaign
According to the information shared by Tesla on its official website, this new campaign only covers new vehicle purchases in North America. Users are also warned that the offer in question can be changed or terminated at any time.

Although this campaign seems like a small advantage for users who have charging facilities at home, it means serious savings for those who do not have a charging point at home. The right to free Supercharging starts with the delivery of the vehicle and cannot be requested in cash. The free charging right offered within the scope of the campaign does not cover vehicles used for commercial purposes. Tesla vehicles used in ridesharing, taxi, or delivery services cannot benefit from this promotion.
Restrictions to be Considered
Users having the right to free charging does not mean they are exempt from all fees. If vehicle owners continue to stay plugged in at busy stations after the battery charge level reaches 80 percent, they continue to be liable to pay the congestion fees applied by Tesla.
There is also a regulation for users who previously traded in their gasoline vehicles and earned a 2,000-mile Supercharging incentive. These users will first use their one-year free charging right and then will be able to start using the 2,000-mile incentive they earned. This new move by Tesla stands out as an important incentive, especially for potential Model 3 owners who do not have charging infrastructure in their homes. The company aims to expand the use of electric vehicles and improve the user experience with such campaigns. How the free Supercharging advantage will affect Model 3 sales continues to be a matter of curiosity.
