Hazelight Studios founder Josef Fares hinted that a sequel to It Takes Two could be coming. While he didn’t say anything definitive, Fares said he wanted to gauge player interest.
Possibility of a new game for It Takes Two
In a recent interview, Josef Fares answered the question of which game he would like to make a sequel to with It Takes Two. The adventure game, which has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide since its release in 2021, also won the Game Awards.

When asked about the possibility of a sequel, Fares gave evasive answers by saying, “Who knows? You never know what’s coming in Hazelight.” Although this is not a definitive confirmation, it does indicate that the studio may be moving towards It Takes Two after its new production, Split Fiction.
It Takes Two, which has been shown among the most beloved games since its release, is known as an obstacle-overcoming game played by two people, based on the husband-wife couple May and Cody trying to escape after being turned into toys.
It Takes Two’s only success is not in sales. In fact, it was chosen as the Game of the Year and Best Family Game at The Game Awards in 2021. However, it was revealed that Amazon will be making an adaptation film in 2022.
On the other hand, players will be able to try the studio’s new game Split Fiction starting on March 6. The action-adventure game will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
