PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe subscribers have received a quiet update for Resident Evil Director’s Cut. With this update, players who were previously stuck with the PAL version can now switch to the NTSC version. This allows European players to experience the smoother and higher-performance version that was previously available only to American players. Here are the details…
Sony Allows Region Switching for PS Plus Games
In 2022, it became a significant issue for many players that PAL versions of games ran at lower frame rates compared to NTSC versions. Sony had promised an update for this, and it seems they’ve delivered. Resident Evil Director’s Cut is one of the latest games to receive a region-switching update.

Players who are not Premium members but have been waiting for the NTSC version can now purchase the updated version independently through the PlayStation Store.
Additionally, users who previously bought the game on older consoles like the PS3, PSP, or Vita are eligible for a free upgrade. Simply log in with your PS Store account and check the game’s page. If the upgrade is supported, you can download the game for free.
