Adobe is adding a significant innovation to its Premiere mobile app, designed for those who want to edit videos on the go: an editor specifically for YouTube Shorts. This app, which offers the powerful features of the desktop version in a simpler, mobile-friendly experience, aims to simplify the work of content creators by focusing on the short-form video format. However, this new feature is currently only available to iOS users.
Official Partnership with YouTube
The Adobe Premiere mobile app, announced in September 2025 and promised to be available for Android, has officially partnered with YouTube to finally launch its Shorts-focused editor. The Premiere app will include a brand new section designed specifically for short-form YouTube videos.
The company states that this new editor suite will include templates, transitions, and effects specifically designed for the platform. The app will offer export options specifically for YouTube Shorts, simplifying video creation and leading to faster uploads.
According to Adobe, the YouTube Shorts creator will provide mobile users with the following features:
- Special Effects and Transitions: Offering special effects and platform-specific transitions available exclusively in this tool.
- Pre-made Templates: Speeding up the editing process with ready-made templates and transitions.
- Creating Custom Templates: Allowing users to create their own custom templates and reuse them later.
- Quick Share: Offering the ability to share videos directly to YouTube with “just a few taps.”
- These features build on the other advanced mobile editing features already offered by the Adobe Premiere mobile app.
Unfortunately, the launch of the YouTube Shorts editor didn’t come with any new news about the anticipated Android version of Adobe Premiere. Adobe simply stated that the Android app is in testing and hasn’t shared any additional information at this time. It seems Android users will be waiting for a mobile Premiere experience for some time to come.
