Technology giant Acer has made a strong entry into the smart TV market. The company is breaking new ground with the introduction of its new 4K UHD Google TV Box. This device, which stands out from similar products on the market, stands out with its extensive ports.
Acer Announces New TV Box Model
The new Acer Google TV Box combines all the connectivity options users might need in a single device. The device features HDMI, USB-C, and standard USB-A ports. An Ethernet port is also included for internet connection, and a microSD card reader is also included for storage needs.
For audio, S/PDIF optical audio output is offered. The USB-C port is used solely for data transfer due to the device’s separate power input, providing users with greater flexibility.

Acer’s new device also stands out with its technical specifications. It features an Amlogic S905X5 processor, which is comprised of a quad-core Cortex-A510 CPU and a Mali-G310 GPU. It also features a TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) with a 4-TOPS capacity for artificial intelligence (AI) processing.
The device features resolution upscaling technology and supports Wi-Fi 6. There is conflicting information regarding RAM; Acer’s press release lists 3GB of RAM, while the pre-order page lists 2GB.
The device comes with a standard TV remote. It features dedicated shortcut keys for popular platforms like YouTube, YouTube Music, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video. A “Live TV” button is also a key feature.
This ambitious Acer product is available for pre-order with a price tag of $80. This price is quite competitive considering the device’s features and range of connectivity options.
